Brief Introduction:

Institute for Spatial Planning and Environment Research, India, Panchkula (ISPER), registered society under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 is headquaters at Amravati Enclave, Panchkula. It is also registered under the provisions of Section 12 A (a) of Income Tax Act of India and has been granted exemption by the Income Tax Department under section 80 –G upto march 2011.  

ISPER  with experienced multidisciplinary team of Urban and Regional Planners, Structural Engineers, Architects, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, Physical Planners, Environment Experts, GIS & Remote Sensing Experts is engaged in various research and training activities and provides a common forum to disseminate knowledge and harness it for the welfare of society. ISPER undertakes research to update knowledge and create data bank for the use of various government and non-government organizations. it focuses on both human and natural environment believing that a human settlement is like any other living entity, complex in its structure and functions. Therefore, to plan and manage human settlements a pooling of expertise and skills is required.

 

Areas of Interest:

ISPER as a multi disciplinary organization is committed to promote geo-spatial technologies and its applications in various development activities of society, economy and environment through community participation.  ISPER focus on Achieving the spatial sustainable development in urban, rural including  backward areas of India by using the cutting edge technologies. Priority areas of interest for ISPER are as follows:

  • Spatial Planning Using Geo-spatial Techniques.
  • Watershed prioritization and management using Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS technologies.
  • Rural water supply and sanitation programmes.
  • Identification and replenishment of public tube wells with the help of Remote Sensing and GPS technologies.
  • Women focused programmes and constitution of self-help groups.
  • Human resource development including institution development, design and organization of training/seminars/symposia/workshops and other programmes.
  • Preparation and publication of Journals/ manuals/handbooks/Technical bulletins/monographs on various studies.
  • Groundwater recharge, rainwater harvesting, project preparation and execution of recharge structure.
  • Socio-economic studies using GIS technologies.
  • Topographical Mapping and Analysis in GIS Environment.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Projects.
